# `POST /events/filing`

**Purpose:** Read one event filing, with optional Item selection, original text and attachments.

**Request:**

| `as_of_date` | ISO date | omitted | Read this filing only if it was filed on or before this date. Must not be in the future. |
| `detail` | string | `"full"` | Full and minimal views only: `"light"` returns the minimal view. With `include_original_raw_text` or `include_exhibits`, the full view is returned. See [Response detail](/documents/responses.md#response-detail). |

**Response:** `filing` ([event filing object](/documents/event-objects.md#event-filing-object)) with `sections` ([event section objects](/documents/event-objects.md#event-section-object)), available `amendments`, and `raw_text` / `exhibits` when requested; then `credits_used` and optional `_warnings`.

`items` filters only `sections`. Filing metadata, amendment records and requested original text remain complete. Valid Item codes with no matching sections return `sections: []`.

**Credits:** **30 per call**, including requests with no matching sections.

**Errors:** `404 EVENTS_FILING_NOT_FOUND` (charged), `404 EVENTS_FILING_NOT_YET_FILED` (charged; the filing is later than `as_of_date`), `403 PLAN_TIER_INSUFFICIENT` when the filing is outside your plan (charged) or below Starter, `422 VALIDATION_ERROR`, `402 CREDITS_INSUFFICIENT`.
