# Responses

## Response detail

Endpoints that list a `detail` field accept `"full"` (default), `"light"` or `"minimal"`; all three are charged the same.

- `"full"` returns everything.
- `"light"` leaves out the fields listed under each endpoint.
- `"minimal"` returns only the values and what identifies them; sources, links, calculation details and prior versions are left out.

## Filing caveats

A filing may carry a free-text disclaimer about the completeness of its data. When present, it appears:

- As a **`caveat`** field on the filing information (top-level for single-filing responses; per-row in `results[]` for compare endpoints; per-item in `filings[]` for `POST /data/filings`). Either `null` / absent (no caveat), or a string.
- On endpoints that return facts or statements, as a **`_warnings`** entry of the form `Filing <TICKER> <FORM> FY<YEAR>[ <QUARTER>] has caveat: <text>`. Compare endpoints aggregate per-filing caveats into a single deduplicated `_warnings` list.
